Where can you find policymakers, parents, educators, and service providers in the same space—discussing, sharing, and collaborating?
Where can you attend sessions on everything from supporting students with visual impairments to selecting the right assistive technology to building social skills in young children with autism?
Where can you connect with a paraprofessional in Ohio, an educator in Scotland, a service provider in California, and a self‑advocate in Alaska?
Where else but OCALICON?
We connect and collaborate across the lifespan, across agencies, and across the world.
We don’t focus on just early childhood, K–12, or adulthood. We focus across the lifespan because every age and every milestone matters. Babies become toddlers who become students who become adolescents who become adults. Each stage brings new needs, new challenges, and new opportunities—and we’re committed to supporting them all.
We don’t bring together only school districts, state departments, or nonprofits. We work across agencies because progress accelerates when we work together. OCALICON convenes school districts and state departments, nonprofits and private companies, parents and families, social workers and general educators, special educators and policymakers, direct service providers and early childhood professionals—and many more. This cross‑section fuels collaboration, sparks innovation, and opens doors to new possibilities.
We don’t believe our backyard is the only place that needs ideas, support, and resources. Our focus extends beyond our city, our state, and our country. We welcome the teacher six states away striving to create better opportunities for her students, and the administrator halfway around the world working to transform his system. We don’t convene just Ohioans or Americans—we convene the world.
OCALICON is where ideas are exchanged, relationships are built, and inspiration becomes action. We hope you’ll join us and experience firsthand what it means to be part of this unique community.
