OCALI Centers

Teaching Diverse Learners Center
The Center for Teaching Diverse Learners works to ensure that learners with low-incidence disabilities have access to equal and effective educational opportunities.

Autism Center
The Autism Center works to build the capacity of school districts and other education agencies to improve their instruction and support for individuals with autism.

Universal Design for Learning Center
The Universal Design for Learning Center at OCALI increases access and equity through purposeful planning that leads to meaningful, effective instruction for all students.

AT&AEM Center
The Center promotes accessibility and personalization, creates and disseminates accessible materials and offers specialized training and technical assistance.

Lifespan Transitions Center
The Lifespan Transitions Center works to equip communities to support the successful and unique transition of individuals with disabilities to ensure they can live their best lives for their whole lives.

Family and Community Outreach Center
The Family and Community Outreach Center equips and empowers families with knowledge, information, and resources. To do this, we offer online tools, connect families to information and resources, and raise awareness and acceptance within the community.

Center for the Young Child
The Center for the Young Child is dedicated to giving children with disabilities the best possible start in life because early experiences impact lifelong outcomes.

Outreach Center for Deafness and Blindness
The Outreach Center for Deafness and Blindness increases access, communication, and equity for learners who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or visually impaired.

Office of Policy
The Office of Policy works to connect research, real life, and policy so people with disabilities can live their best lives for their whole lives. We work across public and private sectors to inform decision makers, create practical, innovative policy, and establish partnerships that improve the lives of people with disabilities.

Multi-System Navigation Center
The Multi-System Navigation Center works to help individuals and families navigate multiple partners, resources, agencies and opportunities in getting the resources and tools needed for success in life.

Online Learning

Autism Certification Center
ASD Strategies in Action gives families and service providers tools to ensure they are equipped to effectively care for, support, educate, employ, or work with individuals on the autism spectrum from early childhood to young adulthood.

Autism Internet Modules
Designed for those who support, instruct, work with, or live with someone with autism, the Autism Internet Modules (AIM) guide users through case studies, instructional videos, pre- and post-assessments, discussion questions, activities, and more.

Assistive Technology Internet Modules
Accessibility is often the key to independence. Because each person’s needs are different, it is important to carefully assess what assistive technologies (AT) are necessary and how to effectively use them. Designed for educators, professionals, families, persons with disabilities, and others of all ages, the Assistive Technology Internet Modules (ATIM) guide users through case studies, instructional videos, pre- and post-assessments, glossaries, discussion questions, and more.
