Sana Afzal
Sana Afzal is a special education teacher with the Clark County School District, where she teaches in a self-contained classroom serving elementary students with specific learning disabilities (SLD). She is a doctoral student in Special Education at the University of Nevada, Reno with an emphasis in behavior analysis and is completing supervised fieldwork toward BCBA certification. Her professional interests include evidence-based literacy instruction, behavior analytic interventions, and improving reading outcomes for students with disabilities. Her current research examines the use of simultaneous prompting to teach irregular sight words to elementary students with SLD.

Catherine Allen is a special educator with over a decade of experience supporting students with behaviors that challenge their teachers in school settings. She is also currently a research associate and a doctoral student at the University of Oklahoma. She is working toward national certification in applied behavior analysis. Catherine desires to support teachers through coaching and helping them find success within their classrooms to better support their students and increase student outcomes.

Lindsey Althaus is the Northwest Regional Director for The Arc of Ohio, where she focuses on education and federal policy and amplifies the voices of people with disabilities and their families. As a disability parent and advocate, Lindsey is passionate about turning lived experience into meaningful advocacy and helping families navigate systems and create better futures. She lives in Wood County with her husband, Jeremy, and their two children, Whitman, 12, and Genevieve, 9. Whitman was born at 33 weeks and has autism, apraxia, and epilepsy. Lindsey chronicles their messy, beautiful, and often hilarious life on her blog, The Althaus Life.

Rebecca Andersen
Rebecca Andersen is a fourth-year Ph.D. student in educational psychology at the University of Albany, where she also earned her master's degree. With ten years of experience as a special education teacher's assistant in diverse school settings, her research explores both domestic and global perceptions, awareness, and active inclusion of neurodivergent students. She is particularly interested in how emerging AI technologies might enhance accommodation strategies at both a personal and institutional level. Her work is driven by a deep personal commitment to fostering inclusive, affirming educational environments for all learners.

Abdu Arslanyilmaz
Dr. Arslanyilmaz is Director of Computer Science, Information, & Engineering Technology and Professor at YSU. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Texas A&M University, Master's in Information Science and Learning Technologies from the University of Missouri, and bachelor's in Computer Education from Gazi University. His research focuses on computational thinking, autonomous vehicles, driving simulations, and AI. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, secured more than $2 million in competitive grant funding, presented at national and international conferences, and received multiple honors, including the James P. Tressel Endowed Chair in Leadership Award.

Ruth Aspy, PhD, is a licensed psychologist specializing in transdisciplinary assessment and intervention for individuals with ASD. She is co-author of The Ziggurat Model, which earned the Autism Society Literary Achievement Award. Her focus is on understanding underlying strengths and characteristics of those with ASD and designing supports and strategies with these differences in mind. She has an emphasis on working with females with ASD and on catatonia.

Atugonza Jocelynn Jollie is a Service-Learning Coordinator and Special Needs Specialist at Aga Khan High School, holding a M.Ed. in Special Needs Education and an MBA (PPM). An author on service learning, she integrates "Service Above Self" with peer-mediated interventions to foster student agency and belonging. Her background includes serving as an educational consultant for the Uganda Management Institute and a tutor at the IGAD Sheikh Veterinary Institute in Somaliland. Deeply committed to youth empowerment, she mentors with Girls for Girls, facilitates for Evolving Woman, and advises the Interact Club of Aga Khan High School Kampala, championing inclusive, transformative education.

Dr. Julie Atwood is a certified general and special education teacher with over 15 years of experience serving schools in Oklahoma, Texas, and Japan. She is a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) and has worked to support individuals with disabilities in school, residential and clinical settings. Dr. Atwood is currently a Research Scientist at the University of Oklahoma. Emily Babcock, MEd, is a comprehensive life skills teacher for secondary students with disabilities. Currently a fifth-year teacher, Babcock's work with adults and children with disabilities began in her teens. She has worked in transitional living and behavior therapy with children on the autism spectrum, and, most recently, Babcock served as the program coordinator for a life skills nonprofit for individuals with moderate to severe disabilities. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree through the University of Nevada, Reno, with an emphasis in special education and applied behavior analysis.

Sayard Bass
Sayard Bass is a Speech Pathologist and Assistive Technology Professional with Southwest Cook County Cooperative (SWCCCASE) near Chicago, Illinois. As part of her work she supports 11 districts in providing services to students in their home schools or in one of the cooperative's specialized programs. Sayard has built the cooperative's assistive technology program from the ground up with the mission of capacity building, and utilizing the QIAT indicators to strengthen organizational processes throughout the region. She was selected as a Joy Zabala Fellow in 2024, this honor was an amazing opportunity to continue sharing and growing in the community of Assistive Technology.

Jen Bavry, PMP, serves as OCALI's Office of Strategic Connection Program Director, providing strategic leadership, overseeing program development, and facilitating collaboration across agencies and centers. She directs initiatives within the Family and Community Outreach Center and Multi-System Navigation Center and facilitates Ohio's Interagency Work Group on Autism. Jen equips families and professionals with resources, fosters community awareness, and promotes accessibility. She collaborates with partners to advance best practices and inclusion through collective impact. Lydia Beahm
Lydia Beahm earned her Ph.D. in special education from the University of Virginia. She was a special education teacher in West Virginia for eight years before becoming a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) and earning her Ph.D. As a former teacher, Dr. Beahm has extensive experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, and other health impairments in the elementary setting. Her research focuses include improving the feasibility of evidence-based practices for classroom and behavior management, analysis of social validity in behavioral research, and developing high-quality online support for educators.

Sam Becker
Sam Becker is a 31-year-old non-speaker and communication rights advocate from Bridgewater, New Jersey who started spelling to communicate at the age of 26. Sam learned to spell to communicate when he was 26 and it completely changed his life. Now he is able to show the world that he is intelligent and capable of living a rich, full and meaningful life. Sam became a member of Spellers & Allies Advocacy Network in the Spring of 2022. His mission: "I advocate for all non-speakers to have a way to communicate so people realize how smart we are and stop underestimating us."

Olivia Beihl
Olivia Beihl is an educator with a passion for supporting the diverse needs of students. She earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and her master's degree in Special Education, both from West Liberty University. Olivia has dedicated her career to public education. After spending five years teaching fifth grade, Olivia transitioned into a K-2 Autism classroom, where she provides individualized instruction and fosters an inclusive, supportive environment for learners. She has been recognized for building strong relationships with students, collaborating with colleagues and families, and creating engaging classroom experiences that encourage academic and personal growth.

Shawna Benson
Shawna Benson has worked at OCALI since 2008, where she is the program director for the Teaching Diverse Learners Center. In addition to working at OCALI, she has also worked within Ohio school districts, ESCs, SSTs, DODD, private preschool and higher education as an educator, assistive technology specialist, autism/low incidence specialist, literacy specialist, associate professor and director of disability services. She has experience co-teaching in inclusive settings and providing academic instruction/intervention to students with a wide range of exceptionalities, ages, strengths and needs, which has provided her with a wealth of information that she now applies to her current work.

Felicia Bernhard, MSOT OTR/L BCP, is a board-certified pediatric occupational therapist. She works in an outpatient setting at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. She primarily works with autistic children and their families. Bernhard is also a PhD candidate at the University of Kentucky. She is investigating therapeutic relationships between occupational therapists, autistic children, and their caregivers. Her research interests include occupational therapy practice related to autism, relationship-based practice, and attunement.

Megan Best
Megan Best is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Early Childhood, Special Education, and Counselor Education at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Best's research focuses on three interconnected areas: (1) supporting special educators in developing and implementing student- and parent-directed transition services; (2) empowering transition-aged youth with disabilities in self-advocacy, particularly during the transition to adulthood; and (3) developing and implementing accessible research practices for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Elizabeth Biggs
Elizabeth Biggs, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of special education at Vanderbilt University. She was formerly a special education teacher on the Navajo Nation in New Mexico and has over 15 years of experience working with students with disabilities. Her research focuses on improving outcomes for students who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and she has published over 50 research articles and book chapters- most on the topics of communication and literacy intervention, inclusion, and peer relationships. At Vanderbilt, she teaches classes focused on literacy, inclusion, and general education access for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Maylene Bird, CTVI, COMS, has 35 years of experience at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (TSBVI). She has a total of 24 years of experience teaching math, two at another school. Previously, Bird taught biology, career-education, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills. She is a co-author of Nemeth at a Glance, and has co-presented numerous times on topics related to teaching math and using Nemeth Code. Bird is currently a secondary mathematics teacher at TSBVI.

Angela Blatz is the Career and Credential Consultant for the Division of Employer and Innovation Services at Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD). She supports the region by connecting individuals with disabilities to training programs that lead to in-demand credentials. Angela also collaborates with employers, including Registered Apprenticeship Programs, to help them hire, train, retain, and advance qualified candidates. She joined OOD in 2025 and has a bachelor's degree in business. She brings over 20 years of human services experience.

JoAnna Bowling is a fifth-grade mathematics teacher at Northwest Local School District in Scioto County, Ohio, with 23 years of teaching experience. She previously taught eighth- and ninth-grade mathematics at Western Local School District in Pike County, Ohio. JoAnna holds a bachelor's degree in Middle School Education from Shawnee State University and a master's degree in Teaching and Learning from Nova Southeastern University. She is licensed in Ohio to teach grades 4-9 Mathematics and Social Studies, serves on her district's Leadership Team, and was named the 2025-2026 CORAS Outstanding Elementary Teacher.

Her work focuses on the creatiion of high-quality service systems that integrate technology into educational programs for students with disabilities. Heather Bridgman, a rehabilitation engineer, has been working in both the medical and educational environments for over 20 years on computer access, augmentative communication, universal design for learning, and online learning. She has a master's degree in systems engineering, a teaching license in high school mathematics, is certified as a RESNA assistive technology professional, and also teaches AT courses at Ashland University. Bridgman has presented at numerous conferences on a wide variety of assistive technology topics and market trends. Recent projects include development of SIFTS which is an AT feature-matching tool and the online modules known as ATIM.

Karen Brothers has worked in education for the past 37 years. She holds both a bachelor's and master of arts from The Ohio State University. Brothers completed a second master of science from the University of Dayton. Brothers established the Peer Collaboration Program in the Dublin City Schools 25 years ago and continues to facilitate the program in Dublin and provides training for school districts in several states. She has presented at state and local conferences and authored a Peer Colaboration Manual. Brothers serves on non-profit boards supporting individuals with ASD and provides autism training to adult care providers. She is the parent of a 31 year old son with autism.

Paige Buckingham, M.S., CCC-SLP, is the owner of Buckingham Educational Services & Training, LLC (BEST) and serves as the Assistive Technology Lead Facilitator for Kansas Infinitec. With 35 years of experience in speech-language pathology, she partners with school districts to implement and sustain effective AT systems. Paige presents nationally on the impact of Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) on AAC decision-making. Sarah Buffie, MSW, LSW, founding director of Soul Bird Consulting, believes that nothing has the power to heal like supportive relationships. Specializing in trauma responsive care, she helps organizations and individuals disrupt current models of thinking by building empathy and understanding around the effects of developmental trauma. Her focus is to spread awareness about how trauma affects the brain, body, and behavioral patterns and teach effective approaches for developing resilience within the people that organizations strive to serve, and the people closest to the work, caregivers, and direct providers.

Myra Bundy, PhD, BCBA, is a professor of psychology at Eastern Kentucky University, a board certified behavior analyst, and a licensed psychologist with specialization in autism and developmental disabilities. She interned at the University of North Carolina's TEACCH program. In the EKU psychology clinic, she works alongside graduate students with individuals with ASD across the lifespan. She researches autism topics, and coordinates the EKU ASD certificate program. She is a clinician with the Kentucky OCSHCN autism clinics and has a private practice. Bundy and her students enjoy spending time with individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.

Sarah Buoni, MEd, is the Associate Administrator for the Diverse Learner Team with the Office for Exceptional Children at the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. She has worked in the area of low incidence disabilities for twenty years as both an administrator and an itinerant teacher. Buoni provides technical assistance to families and districts and informs policy and procedures for the education of children who are deaf/hard of hearing, blind/visually impaired, have traumatic brain injuries or have autism spectrum disorder. She participates on statewide meetings including the Interagency Workgroup on Autism, the Communicative Competency Taskforce, and the Tech First Taskforce.

Sarra Burnham is a community life engagement project manager at the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. Before joining DODD in January 2022, Burnham worked at the Lucas County Board as an early intervention developmental specialist, service and support coordinator, and community inclusion manager. She has a bachelor's degree in social work and a master's degree in special education from Bowling Green State University. She is a licensed social worker and has held certifications in early intervention, service and support administration, and adult services.

Angie Burque is a social worker/clinical professor at Auburn University. She has an MSW from Florida State University with a concentration in children and health. She is the BSW Field Director and teaches social work practice courses. She has practice experience in family and child welfare, transitional housing, and health care. She created 2 BraveHeart Community-based programs for children, teens and adults with IDD who face moderate-severe communication and cognitive challenges. With more than 15 years of clinical experience, she specializes in co-regulation, attachment, trauma-informed care, neurodevelopment, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Denise A. Campbell, MS, OTR/L, has practiced school-based occupational therapy for 20 years, serving students ages 3-22 with diverse abilities and diagnoses, including autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, Down syndrome, learning disabilities, and complex medical needs. She specializes in matching activities to student ability levels and using visual supports and communication systems to promote success. Michael Cantino is an educator, assistive technology specialist, braille transcriber, and artist living in Portland, Oregon. He has been supporting students with disabilities in K-12 and higher education since 2006. Cantino specializes in creating accessible materials for complex subjects, including art, STEM, and wayfinding, with a focus in tactile graphics. Michael's 3D printed tactile materials have been shown at multiple museums, national parks, and universities.

Megan Cavanaugh
Megan Cavanaugh, QBHP, MSpEd, is currently a Teacher Consultant for Detroit Public Schools Community District. This is her twenty-fifth year in special education. She is skilled in the design of special education programs, utilizing best practice as defined by national standards in education. She presents information in a variety of ways, emphasizing the relevance of education to the world beyond the classroom. She is highly qualified in elementary education, language arts, emotional impairments, behavior analysis and autism spectrum disorders. She has completed her schooling in applied behavior analysis, and has chosen to stay in education where she feels she can make the biggest impact.

Erica Chambers, M.Ed., is a graduate of the University of Toledo who has 20 years of experience in the public school setting. She has worked as a teacher of students with visual impairments and most recently served as the special education coordinator for the Visual Impairment Program. Chambers was also an active member of the assistive technology team at Columbus City Schools, where she collaborated on AT assessments and supported the integration of technology to enhance accessibility and learning. Kim Clairy is an autistic occupational therapist, international speaker, consultant, author, and self-advocate. Clairy broke through many barriers as she defied a healthcare system that said, "your autism is severe; you need to live in a nursing home." Her difficult healthcare experiences forged a passion for educating others on autism. Barb Clark is the founder of FASD Mosaic and a nationally recognized speaker, coach, and trainer who helps caregivers and professionals translate brain science into practical, real-world strategies. Chris Clark-Bischke
Chris Clark-Bischke, Ph.D., is the director of the multi-university consortium teacher preparation program in sensory impairments and a professor and faculty member in the department of special education at the University of Utah. She is the program coordinator of the visual impairments program at the UofU and Utah State University. Bischke knows the importance of preparing future teachers of students with visual impairments in the Unified Braille Code and in the creation of tactile graphics. Through collaboration with peers, her students are learning valuable information that will better prepare them to support their students.

Dennis Cleary
Dennis Cleary is a senior researcher at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. He has over 25 years of experience as an occupational therapist. Cleary's clinical practice has been primarily with children and adults with intellectual disabilities to encourage their full participation in all aspects of life at home, and work, and in the community. As a researcher, he has been on teams that have received over $7 million in grants from state and federal agencies, including an NIH multisite trial of the Vocational Fit Assessment, an age-appropriate transition assessment and job matching tool, which he co-created. He has numerous publications and national and international presentations.

Risa Cohen
Risa Beth Cohen is the Founder and Creative Director of Sing Into Reading, where you can teach your child to read with music and love. Risa holds an M.S.Ed. in Early Childhood & Elementary Education from Bank Street College. She serves as a Field Supervisor at the University of Toledo. As a writer, Risa has written many songs and stories that are woven into her program, Sing into Reading. Risa offers classes for children, parents, and educators, PD at schools, and has led workshops at conferences and events nationwide and internationally. Mikaylin Collette, COTA/L, is a pediatric occupational therapy assistant dedicated to advancing neurodiversity-affirming, relationship-based practice. Mikaylin is passionate about bridging research and practice to help professionals move beyond isolated interventions toward connected systems of support. Jené Conway, LSW, COMS, is a dedicated vocational rehabilitation professional with 12 years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving independence through employment. Based in Lima, Ohio, she serves as a Vision Services Program Administrator with Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities in the Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired, where she leads statewide program initiatives. Her career spans roles in job development, vocational counseling, program development and administration. Karena Cooper-Duffy is a professor of special education at Western Carolina University. For 28 years, she has specialized in teaching students with autism, significant intellectual disabilities, and multiple disabilities. Her publications include preparing professionals to teach students with significant intellectual disabilities functional, academic, and community-based skills. Her research has a strong focus on building teams and interprofessional collaboration with families and professionals. She presents her work at local, national, and international conferences. She supported staff who educate students with severe disabilities in United States, Jamaica, London, and Botswana.

Stephanie Courson
Stephanie Courson, EdS, NCSP is a practicing school psychologist for a school district in Florida. She is also a third-year doctoral student in Clemson's PhD program for Special Education. Ms. Courson's research interests include supporting alternatively licenced special educators through coaching, especially special educators of students with extensive support needs. She also has done work in the areas of evidence-based instructional and behavioral practices for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Within her school district, she serves on a behavioral education support team promoting best classroom practices for students with extensive support needs.

Stephanie Craig
Dr. Stephanie L. Craig is an Associate Professor at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. She holds a doctorate in special education and specializes in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), inclusive instructional design, and teacher preparation. Dr. Craig redesigns university courses to model UDL, preparing future educators to create accessible learning environments. Before entering higher education, she taught children and adults for 13 years in a district nationally recognized for its implementation of UDL. Her scholarship includes publications and invited presentations on UDL, and she has delivered professional learning for educators at the international, national, and regional levels.

Ben Crimm
Ben Crimm is an autistic, apraxic, and nonspeaking self-advocate. Unable to use his mouth to communicate, for the first 25 years of his life he was trapped in silence. Nine years ago, he learned to communicate everything he wanted to say - what he knows, thinks and needs - by pointing to letters on an alphabet board. It transformed his life. Ben has given over 30 presentations to a wide variety of audiences about the underestimated capabilities of nonspeakers and their communication access needs. He is employed as a Nonspeaking Coordinator for the Spellers and Allies Advocacy Network, the advocacy branch of the International Association for Spelling as Communication.

Teresa Crowson, MAEd., BCBA, LBA, OTR/L has worked in the field of education for 30 years in roles of OT, AT provider, behavior and autism support coach, and training and technical assistance specialist. She is currently an Autism and Behavioral Supports Consultant at OCALI's Autism Center. Crowson received her BSOT from East Carolina University, MAEd. in Educational Leadership from Touro University, and her post-graduate certificate in ABA from Old Dominion University. Crowson is committed to helping individuals with disabilities and those who support them in all areas of life and is motivated by the power of presuming competence.

Cynthia Curry
Cynthia is an Associate Director in the TA Division of the Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice at Utah State University where she serves as Director of the National Center on Accessible Digital Educational Materials & Instruction (NCADEMI or "N-cademy"), a technical assistance center funded by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). Starting her career in education as a secondary science teacher, she has enjoyed diverse roles in the pursuit of more accessible digital learning environments in preK-12 and higher education.

Amy D'Amico
Amy D'Amico is a speech-language pathologist at Montgomery County Educational Service Center in Dayton, Ohio. She provides speech and language services to students with multiple disabilities in a separate facility for students with complex needs. She does AAC evaluations and makes recommendations for augmentative communication devices. Ms. D'Amico is part of the district and building leadership teams for Montgomery County ESC, where she collaborates with administrators on building and district level issues. She also collaborates with intervention specialists, related service providers, as well as paraprofessionals assigned to students who use alternative augmentative communication systems.

Carly Dauch, OTD, OTR/L is the Health Supports Coordinator for the Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities (WCBDD). She is a graduate of the University of Toledo where she received her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy. Carly is the Technology First lead for the WCBDD, where she oversees the Innovative Technology Grant, Region 1 Technology Hub, TwinTech 2.0 and all Technology First initiatives for the agency. Carrie Davenport, Ph.D. is founder and CEO of Building Bridges Consulting LLC, a company focused on research and training related to deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) children and their families. Melissa Day
Melissa Day has been a Disability Rights Advocate for over 20 years. In 2003, she traveled the state of Ohio spreading disability awareness as Ms. Wheelchair America Ohio and successfully lobbied the implementation of Ohio's Medicaid Buy In for Workers with Disability program. Since then, she's worked for Disability Rights Ohio which is the states designated Protection & Advocacy/Client Assistance Program. Melissa works with individuals with disabilities to help them receive services and supports through Ohio's Vocational Rehabilitation agency provided under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and understand their rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Lynn DeMange
Lynn DeMange, OTR/L, CAS, a Shawnee State University graduate, began her career with four years in clinical care at OSU Harding Hospital. In 2006, she transitioned to school-based therapy with the Montgomery County ESC, later joining their Autism and Low-Incidence Coaching Team through 2026. DeMange is a frequent presenter and was an active member of the Autism Task Force at the Montgomery County ESC. DeMange is currently an occupational therapist with the Miami County ESC. There, she continues her dedicated work supporting the academic and functional success of students with autism and complex learning needs.

MaryAnn Demchak is professor of special education at University of Nevada, Reno, teaching courses in severe disabilities and applied behavior analysis. She directs Nevada's project for children with deafblindness. She also directs Project BASE: Behavior Analysis in Special Education. Demchak frequently consults with schools regarding education for students with significant disabilities. Research interests include systematic instruction of students with disabilities, data-based decision-making, evidence-based practices, and applied behavior analysis in education.

Danielle Dietz
Dr. Danielle Dietz is an teaching assistant professor of special education at East Carolina where she recently joined the faculty after serving as the instructional specialist in the STEPP Program, a comprehsnive support program for students with learning disabilities. Dietz earned her doctorate in special education in 2022 from Slippery Rock University and has a specific interest in supporting transition from high school to college for individuals with disabilities. She is conducting research on the expectations vs. realities of first year college students with disbailities as well as their parents.

GeorgiAnn Diniaco, PhD, worked with young people and families for over 35 years in the field of substance abuse prevention/intervention. She was the creator of the substance abuse prevention/intervention program for the Dublin City Schools. This sustaining program is known for its success in empowering young people and supporting families. Diniaco has also been an adjunct instructor at both Ashland University and Columbus State. Currently, she is a national prevention trainer for the PAXIS Institute and instructor for Peer Collaboration. Diniaco completed her undergraduate degree at Kent State University and her masters and PhD at The Ohio State University.

Terri Dinkelaker
Terri Dinkelaker earned her BS in Physical Therapy from St. Louis University in 1993 and her transitional DPT from the University of South Dakota in 2018. She has 33 years of experience in acute care, rehab, pediatrics, home care, outpatient services, and school-based therapy. For the past 17 years, Terri has specialized as a school-based PT working with students ages 3 years to 22 years old with diagnoses including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and Developmental Delays. She is experienced in adaptive equipment, visual supports, sensory-motor strategies, staff training, and collaborative educational supports, and has been recognized as an A-List Therapist by MCESC.

Carol Dittoe has over 40 years of experience working as an SLP in both medical and educational settings. Her focus has been on autism, augmentative communication, and assistive technology. She has served on an Autism and Low-incidence Coaching Team and an Educational Assessment Team, helping educators in the West Central Ohio region implement evidence-based practices to support their students. Carol is certified as an autism specialist and has presented at both state and national conferences. Kelly Draggoo is a social security public affairs specialist for central/southern Ohio and southern Indiana, which is part of social security's Chicago region. Scott Dueker is an associate professor at Ball State University. He serves as director of Applied Behavior Analysis programs and associate department chair for Special Education. He is a board-certified behavior analyst with 15+ years of experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. He has worked in homes, schools, residential placement settings, and the community, focusing on those with profound disabilities. He earned his PhD in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis at The Ohio State University. Emily Durell is a special education attorney at Disability Rights Ohio. Meghan Edwards-Bowyer
Meghan Edwards-Bowyer, M.Ed., BCBA, LBA, is a doctoral candidate in Special Education at Clemson University and Director of Educator Programs at Thrive Therapies Group. Kelly Elton is a Senior, Multi-System Youth and Family Coach. In her role as a MSY coach, she is a Charting the Life Course Ambassador and a Trauma Informed Biographical Timeline facilitator. Jena Fahlbush
Jena Fahlbush, M.Ed., is a technical assistance (TA) specialist for the National Center on Accessible Digital Educational Materials & Instruction (NCADEMI). A licensed K-6 teacher, she spent nine years in the classroom before becoming a statewide TA specialist. There she guided multiple Indiana school districts in creating accessible educational materials (AEM) policies and provided TA on assistive technology (AT), AEM, and UDL. Taking her passion for accessibility to higher education, she designed and led an undergraduate AT course at Indiana University Kokomo. Fahlbush has spoken at various conferences and joined NCADEMI in 2024 to champion digital accessibility for all learners.

Dr. Kristin Farley is the Literacy Specialist at the Ohio Department of Children and Youth (DCY). She firmly believes in the importance of early childhood and is particularly interested in how children develop their reading and writing skills. Kristin studied children's language and literacy development during her master's and doctorate programs. She taught preschool for several years before earning her doctorate, then joined the faculty in Wittenberg University's Education Department working with pre-service teachers. She is now the literacy specialist at DCY where she develops resources for families and professionals to support children's language and literacy growth.

Odunayo Irene Fasoyinu is an MSW student, graduate assistant, and intern at BraveHeart Center for Place and Purpose at Auburn University. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in English, focused on sociolinguistics, pragmatics, and discourse analysis, and a diploma in education. Her background connects language, health education, evaluation, and research. She worked in the Strategic Information Unit at AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria and has taught across educational levels. Larry B. Fisher is an assistant professor at Western Carolina University and he is a board certified behavior analyst. He has 19 years of experience working with individuals with moderate to extensive support needs in the classroom and group home settings. Dr. Fisher received a B.S.Ed. and M.A.Ed. degrees in special education, a post-master's school administration certificate, and his Ph.D. in special education. Fisher's research interests include antecedent-based interventions for addressing challenging behaviors, teaching communication skills to students with complex communication needs, and single-case design methodology.

Sam Fisher
Sam Fisher is a Master of Social Work student at Grand Valley State University and a Summa Cum Laude graduate with bachelor's degrees in psychology, sociology, and dance. Sam's research focuses on autism, mental health, suicidality, and neurodevelopmental disabilities. He has presented at several national conferences, including the College Autism Summit and the National Minorities in Honors Conference. Sam is the author of a published manuscript on suicidality among autistic college students. Sam also works in inpatient behavioral health and is a Crisis Counselor.

Debra Fitzgibbons
Debra Fitzgibbons carries a Master's in Assistive Technology and more than twenty-five years experience providing AT and AEM supports to students in K-12 and higher ed. Deb was the Coordinator for the Oregon Technology Access Program for nine years. She led the Oregon AT & AEM Cohort in development of a statewide system for provision of Accessible Educational Materials to all learners, across the lifespan. Deb is a recipient of the Penny Reed Award for Excellence in Assistive Technology Innovation and Leadership and the Joy Zabala Spirit Award. Though "retired", Deb continues to follow her passions for accessibility, student empowerment and self-advocacy as an independent consultant.

Kim Floyd
Kim Floyd received her PhD from Old Dominion University in special education with an emphasis in early childhood education. She joined the special education department at West Virginia University after teaching at East Carolina since 1992. She has been a member of the American Council on Rural Special Education (ACRES) since joining the faculty at WVU, and in 2015 became the co-coordinator for ACRES headquarters. Her main lines of inquiry are assistive technology, early childhood inclusive practices, rural education, teacher preparation, and trauma informed practices. Her publications are focused on both independent research and practitioners.

Lynne Fogel is a parent of a young woman with I/DD and a Parent Consultant at the Ohio Department of Health. With a previous career as a librarian and a long history of working as a family support professional, she is called to help people find the information, resources and support they need to live their best lives. LeighAnn Fresina is a veteran educator with a 20-year career bridging school leadership and corporate development. Previously, she served as Middle School Academic Dean at Trinity Episcopal School, where she co-created an innovative "Learning Lab" focused on executive functioning. This fall, she is relocating to Roanoke, VA, to teach high school math at Northside High School. Marcus Fuller
Dr. Fuller's research focuses on empowering families, educators, and researchers by helping them increase their implementation skills during interventions through utilization of coaching and performance feedback with children with behavior disorders, autism, and/or complex communication needs. Amy Gaffney
Amy Moore Gaffney, MA, CCC-SLP, a speech-language pathologist and a TEACCH certified advanced consultant, and is currently a Special Education Coach with Perry Township Schools in Indianapolis, IN. She has experience working with children, young adults, and their families in a variety of settings, including in-home, public and private schools, private clinics, and in the community. Gaffney brings to her presentations experiences she has learned as an autism consultant, as well as from being a parent of a child with a disability. Kari Grafton is a Rehabilitation Program Specialist in the Support Employment and Transition Unit for Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD). Kari has dedicated her work to Ohioans with disabilities for almost 13 years starting as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in 2013. Prior to OOD, Kari provided counseling to children and adults in a community mental health setting with a focus on Mood Disorders, Behavioral Disorders, and Personality Disorders. Tyrone A. Green Jr. is a husband, father of four, and passionate advocate for families in the autism community. Born and raised in Southfield, Michigan, he now lives in Adrian where he balances life as a family man and a leader in higher education. In his role he works every day to help students reach their full potential, both inside and outside the classroom He also leads a support group for Black fathers with love one's on the spectrum. This support group is funded through the Colors of Autism Foundation. His youngest child is on the autism spectrum, and that journey has fueled his drive to advocate, support, and uplift other families walking a similar path.

Sara Griffith, M.Ed., is a doctoral student in the Learning Sciences program at Clemson University. Their research interests center on equity in education, with an emphasis on the impact of students' ability on their access to educational opportunity. Jason P. Harris, is the founder, spokesperson, and chief idea officer of Jason's Connection and a Facebook page with over 325,000 followers. As well as running Jason's Connection, Harris does consultation and speaking on many topics around disability culture, rights, justice and more. Betsy has worked with the Vulnerable Youth Programs team at the Ohio Department of Education since March of 2022. Prior to that, she spent over sixteen years working with youth at a maximum-security treatment facility. While there, she worked within a multi-year Trauma and Grief Component Therapy for Children and Adolescents learning collaborative that revolutionized treatment and outcomes in her facility for both the youth and staff. As the Court Involved Youth Coordinator for the department, she provides information on federal laws that support the educational stability for students who are justice-involved and students in foster care. Dr. Kathryn Havercroft is a Professor and Department Chair for the Department of Special Education at Eastern Illinois University. Additionally, Dr. Havercroft is currently a partner, along with Eastern Illinois Area of Special Education (EIASE), on the SLD Support Project grant. Tina Herzberg is a professor and coordinator of the visual impairment program at the University of South Carolina Upstate. Her research focuses on braille literacy, STEM braille codes, STEM learning, assessment of students with visual impairments, tactile graphics, and efficacy of continuing professional development. She is also currently serving as the principal investigator of the federally funded braille training grant, Project INSPIRE 2: Access and Equity in STEM Learning for Individuals who Read Braille. Andrew Hinkle
Andrew Hinkle is the co-director at the National Center on Educational Outcomes (NCEO) where he co-lead's NCEO's technical assistance activities. His focus is on topics related to the inclusion of students with disabilities in assessments including issues related to accessibility on state and district assessments. In this capacity, he oversees the development, planning, operation, and internal evaluation of multiple technical assistance activities that are provided to state and federal agencies, and other stakeholders. Nicole Holder is an Upper Arlington City Schools intervention specialist in the Individualized Needs Center (INC). Houston carries out the annual Federal Quota registration of legally blind students on behalf of OEC, resulting in Federal Quota funds for AEM for Ohio students. She maintains the AT&AEM clearinghouse of braille, digital, and large print textbooks and educational aids for loan to eligible students, and provides technical assistance related to AEM. Jessica Lane
Jessica Lane is the co-founder of Symplifyed, a K-12 MTSS, behavior, and IEP platform built on support over surveillance, and the founder of Data-Informed Impact, through which she has built data systems and training for 160 schools across the U.S. and Canada. A former math teacher, instructional coach, and district data coordinator with a Master of Education in Learning and Technology, she helps teams use small, shared data to notice patterns earlier and understand what drives a behavior. Dr. Michael J. Latessa is Executive Director of The Rich Center for Autism at Youngstown State University, where he leads strategic initiatives, fundraising, and community partnerships. Amy Laurent, PhD, OTR/L, is the co-director of Autism Level UP! an autistic/allistic partnership dedicated to the provision of education, accessible resources, and practical strategies focused on increasing active engagement for autistic individuals and the members of their communities. She is a co-author of the SCERTS Model and frequently lectures internationally. She is passionate about neurodiversity and helping others to honor and understand the implications of "different ways of being" in relation to navigating the physical and social world. Catie Lewis is an education program specialist at the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce in the Office for Exceptional Children. Prior to working for The Department, Lewis was a high school English teacher in the Columbus area, focusing on the co-taught classroom environment. She currently works on the Supports and Monitoring Team, assisting Ohio's educational agencies regarding IDEA compliance. Kaylan Long, M.Ed, BCBA, LBA, is a training and technical assistance associate at the VCU- Autism Center for Education (ACE). Long earned her masters of education in special education from Auburn University. She comes to ACE with experience as a special education teacher in two different states outside of Virginia. Tara Madden teaches students with intellectual disabilities and autism at a high school, working on her PhD in special education focused on applied behavior analysis specialization at the University of Nevada, Reno. Tiffany Madden joins OCALI as the Program Director for the Center for the Young Child (CYC), bringing 20+ years of experience as a licensed speech-language pathologist. Her career has focused upon empowering the families of young children through evidenced-based early intervention (EI) practices. As Ohio's first EI Personnel Development Coordinator, she led statewide workforce development and training initiatives for EI providers and service coordinators. Janice Mader
Janice Mader has been employed at Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities since 2001. She was hired as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, and later a rehabilitation program specialist. She has worked in different units, including policy and training, contract services, and supported employment and transition. In 2019, she became the Program Administrator for Jobs for Recovery that supports people in recovery to find meaningful employment. In July 2023, Jan began working with Ohio College2Careers, which supports students with disabilities at all Ohio's public colleges and universities. She graduated from Ohio University with her bachelor's and master's degrees.

Hunter Markle
Hunter Markle is an autistic young adult with autism. He enjoys sharing his experience of living a mentally healthy life and transitioning to the adult health care system. He completed high school by transferring to a virtual school and was working on college courses when COVID happened. He is currently working part-time in the deli department at a local grocery store and speaks regularly about transition through a partnership with the Wisconsin Youth Health Transition Initiative. He has given input to different Got Transition? projects. He also freely shares his mental health struggles and how he deals with them as an autistic. Heather Maydak began her career as an SLP assistant for individuals with severe and profound disabilities. While at UCP, she worked as an AT Specialist and developed communication and vocational training programs. Maydak assisted in the computer access lab at the Center for Technology and Disability Studies and provided training to hospital and school professionals. She taught AT classes in the special education department at East Carolina University, directed the AT lab, and developed an online graduate certificate program. Owen is the founder and developer of Switchify, an Android access system enabling people with physical disabilities to control devices using adaptive switches or facial gestures. He previously created SayIt!, an accessible communication app for people with limited speech. Tim Morse, EdD, has worked for 45+ years as a university professor, district-level special education administrator, and special education teacher. He founded and, for seven years, directed an autism demonstration school for the Mississippi Department of Education. Michelle Motil specializes in supporting families with children who are Deaf/hard of hearing or blind/visually impaired. She does this by developing resources, presenting information, collaborating with partners, participating in advisory boards, and providing training across the state of Ohio. Haley L. Muir Knox, Ph.D., is a professor of special education at the University at Albany, SUNY. Eric Neal has been focused on improving outcomes for students in low-performing schools for the last 15 years. Starting as a School Improvement Grant manger in Columbus City Schools, and currently serving as a consultant for State Support Team 11, he has helped school and district teams use data to create improvemt plans and monitor them for effectiveness. Michele McMahon Nobel is an associate professor and program director at Ohio Wesleyan University. She has worked in special education for over 30 years starting as an intervention specialist in central Ohio. Dr. Laura Sorg is the Medical Director for the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. Throughout her career as a family physician, Dr. Laura has had a focus on care for those with intellectual disabilities. Wendy Stoica is the assistant administrator in the Office of Assessment at the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. Haley Thacker is a Doctor of Occupational Therapy student at Eastern Kentucky University and earned her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Sciences, summa cum laude, with a minor in Special Education. She served as President of Pi Theta Epsilon, Secretary of the Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA), and has served in other student leadership roles. Haley also served as a Graduate Assistant for EKU's Occupational Therapy Program and has presented research at the Kentucky Occupational Therapy Association Conference, EKU Scholar's Day, and EKU Research Day. Jocelyn Mathis Thomas, M.A., M.Ed., is a high school counselor, doctoral student in Counselor Education and Supervision at The Ohio State University, and founder of Compass Ed Consulting and the Empowered Parent Hub. With 26 years in education, she has experience in secondary teaching, school counseling, university instruction and supervision, and qualitative research. Her work focuses on strengths-based transition planning, disability advocacy, and postsecondary access for neurodivergent students and students with disabilities. Lindsay Thomas is a Vocational Rehabilitation Program Specialist with the Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired at Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. She oversees statewide Blind and Low Vision initiatives and the Independent Living/Older Blind program and provides technical guidance, policy support, and statewide training. Previously, she served in the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, managing OTSP and Jobs for Recovery caseloads. Lindsay holds a Master's in Forensic Psychology and a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice.

Shannon Thomas, MA, is a Rehabilitation Program Specialist in the Transition Services Unit at Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD). She assists her team with programs and initiatives that focus on serving transition aged youth with disabilities. She provides technical assistance, training and collaboration to both internal staff and community partners to improve and advance vocational rehabilitation services for students with disabilities. Julia Timberlake is the Parent Mentor for Kettering City Schools and the mother of a 19-year-old son with Down syndrome and Autism. Amy Todd has been the Director of Special Education for Piqua City Schools for the last 10 years. She serves in leadership with 1 Parent Mentor, 4 School Psychologists, 3 Behavior Coach Teams, 45 Intervention Specialists, 37 Paraprofessionals, in partnership with a Supervisor from the Educational Service Center, a whole host of Related Service Providers and an inhouse Day Treatment Program for grades K - 6. For 4 years prior to this, she served as a consultant with the State Support Team in Region 10 and before moving into administration, she was an intervention specialist serving all three levels (elementary, middle and high) for 15 years.

Macy Trevillion, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist at United Ability and a Ph.D. student in Special Education at The University of Alabama. She provides outpatient pediatric speech-language therapy with interests in AAC, sensory-based and neuroaffirming practices, and connection-based approaches that support communication, regulation, and participation. Macy values interdisciplinary collaboration with families, educators, and professionals to develop individualized supports for children with complex communication needs. Megan Trowbridge
Megan Trowbridge, EdD, is the program director for the Autism Center at OCALI. She coordinates and provides regional and statewide professional development, consultation services, and technical assistance to improve outcomes for individuals with ASD. Trowbridge began her career as a paraprofessional and then as an intervention and behavior specialist before becoming a consultant on Region 14 State Support Team/Southern Ohio ESC. She has collaborated on projects for students with disabilities through local universities, was the president of her local Board of Developmental Disabilities and been a member of state-wide committees for assistive technology and low-incidence disabilities.

Erin Turner
Erin Turner, MA, is an educational consultant for the Enhanced Peer Networks Project at Vanderbilt University. Turner began her career as a special educator and held many roles in schools across the country in her 12 years as an educator. Now, in her current role, she collaborates with schools to foster meaningful relationships between students with and without disabilities. She provides training and coaching for school teams to support social communication and language skills for students with complex communication needs, including the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Turner is an adjunct instructor in the department of special education at Vanderbilt University.

Michele Tyler is the Co-Director for the Center for Parent Center Resources (CPIR) and she was the Co-Director for the Region A Parent Technical Assistance Center, both housed at SPAN Parent Advocacy Network (SPAN). She had been with SPAN since 2011. Before joining SPAN, Michele was a trainer for NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness), graduated from Partners in Policy Making, and has been involved in many parent groups in her community helping to ensure meaningful parent involvement.

Mary Vicario, LPCC-S, has a certificate in traumatic studies from The Justice Resource Institute and has 35+ years experience turning the latest research into interventions for all ages and abilities. She was a counseling delegate to China and Mongolia; participated in a conference on human trafficking in Germany; receives training at international trauma conferences and Harvard Medical School; is a trainer for Ohio Child Welfare and co-authored the Foster Parents Survival Guide, articles, curricula, and a textbook chapter on counseling children and adolescents; is a member of OCALI's MCAT; and over the past 12 years assisted multiple Strong Families, Safe Communities grants.

Kaitlyn Viera
Dr. Kaitlyn Viera is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Special Education at Baylor University in the Department of Educational Psychology. She is also an affiliate of the Baylor Center for Disability and Flourishing. Her current research efforts center on teaching play by utilizing the evidence-based practice of video prompting with students with developmental disabilities, including autism. Her research largely focuses on early childhood special education populations, specifically preschool and kindergarten. Prior to obtaining her doctorate, she taught in early childhood special education and was an intervention specialist in elementary settings.

Jackie Vollmer is a certified autism specialist and licensed intervention specialist with dual licensure in mild/moderate and moderate/intensive disabilities. She is returning to Centerville City Schools for the 2026-27 school year as a Low-Incidence Instructional & Behavior Coach. Previously, she served on the MCESC Autism & Low-Incidence Coaching Team, providing evidence-based coaching and professional development across the Dayton region. Vollmer is a recipient of the Centerville Excellence in Education Award, an Ohio Teacher of the Year nominee, and a Bringing Out the Best in Kids award recipient. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Miami University.

Hannah Warner
Hannah Warner is an observer, collector, analyzer, and illustrator. At 27 years old she was identified with ASD and ADHD. This provided a sense of relief to finally have words for the sensory overload she has experienced her whole life. She spends her time on therapeutic adventures with her dogs and creative pursuits which include hunting for the right words to help her understand her brain. She shares her lived experience perspective through community training aimed at building inclusive environments where everyone can thrive. Allison Weissman, DPT, is a physical therapist and clinical educator with more than 20 years of experience providing school-based pediatric therapy. Her clinical practice spans home and school settings, with expertise in functional gait, postural control, positioning, and balance rehabilitation. Allison is passionate about using therapeutic play to improve outcomes for children with neurological conditions and advocates for adaptive equipment that promotes participation and access to everyday environments. As a clinical educator, she develops continuing education content and has presented at national and international conferences on positioning, mobility, and access for children.

Jena Wells is the Ohio Parent to Parent Senior Community Engagement Coordinator at the University of Cincinnati Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCCEDD). Abby White is a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing with nearly twenty years of experience in the field. She began her career as an itinerant educator in Southern Ohio, where she provided support across various local schools. Abby earned her Master of Education from The Ohio State University and holds a Bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Science. Abby is deeply passionate about literacy education and is a certified trainer in Visual Phonics, a tool that enhances literacy, speech, and language skills for students. Ashley Whitlatch is a Registered Behavioral Technician with Ohio County Schools. She has 7 years of experience in an intensive clinical setting and is in her second year working in the school system servicing mainly elementary aged students. Hillary Wier currently serves as the mobile services unit coordinator for Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD), where she is the primary point of contact for statewide collaboration related to mobile services. Prior to her current position, Wier was a counselor at OOD, specializing in providing support to individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing and has also worked the non-profit sector, providing vocational services. Stephanie Wilcox has been working with people with disabilities for three decades, two of those having been in the classroom. She currently teaches a self-contained classroom in a high school setting. Stephanie earned her bachelor's degree in mild/moderate intervention specialist from Capital University, her masters degree in applied behavior analysis from Purdue University, and is a special education and education policy PhD student at the Ohio State University. Renae Wilhelm, OTD, OTR/L, is a graduate from the University of Toledo. She has experience working in the field of occupational therapy in skilled nursing, outpatient, inpatient, and community settings. She has worked with various ages and populations but has always had a love working with individuals with developmental disabilities. She started her career at the Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities in 2021. James Williams
James Williams was diagnosed with autism in 1991, at the age of 3. He graduated from Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois, in 2010, with a modified diploma, and has been an active member of Glenbrook North's Booster Club since 2015. He gave his first presentation on autism in 1999. Today, he travels around the U.S. lecturing on autism. He is the author or co-author of eight autism-related books. He served on the SPARK Research Match Committee in 2021 and 2022, and on the SPARK Community Advisory Committee from 2017 to 2023. He is also a professional recorder player who has recorded a total of three solo albums and two collaborative albums.

Thai Ray Williams is an Assistant Professor at the Utah State University and a National Board Certified Teacher with 32 years of experience as a special education teacher. Laura C Windholtz
Laura Windholtz is a speech-language pathologist for Montgomery County Educational Service Center in Dayton, Ohio. She provides speech and language services to students with multiple disabilities in a separate facility for students with complex needs. Services include: direct treatment, AAC Evaluations, coaching staff on use of AAC devices, coaching staff on comprehensive literacy strategies and modeling language in the classroom. Windholtz serves on the building leadership team for Montgomery County ESC, where she collaborates with administrators and related service providers on building level issues.

Chloe Wise is a doctoral student in Special Education at Clemson University and an elementary special education teacher in Georgia serving students with autism. She is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Her research interests include self-determination for elementary students with disabilities, administrator preparation to support special education teachers in self-contained classrooms, and the integration of BCBAs in school settings. Her previous scholarship has examined the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), reductions in challenging behavior, and matched stimulation interventions for automatically maintained self-injurious behavior.

Julie Z. Wood is the Accessible Ohio Manager at Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD). She oversees the Accessible Ohio program and a regional team that supports Ohio's businesses, communities, venues, and attractions in becoming more accessible and inclusive through consultations, education, and resources. She joined OOD in 2018 as the Worksite Accessibility Specialist, assisting hundreds of employers with ADA Title I and disability-inclusive workplace practices. Julie is a certified ADA Coordinator and licensed Occupational Therapist with a master's degree, plus degrees in marketing and business management.
