Is this event in-person or online?
The entirety of OCALICONLINE 2023 will be online, with no in-person gatherings. This allows anyone to attend from anywhere!
What does the virtual event look like?
The virtual conference is a four-day event with over 250 sessions. OCALICON uses a custom platform accessed through your OCALI Pass account with integrated Zoom session links. You'll also note a video player at the top of your OCALI Pass home page – that's the OCALI Channel, which continuously streams content throughout the event.
Am I required to attend the entirety of the event?
Of course not! We realize schedules are challenging and it may not be feasible for everyone to attend all four days of the live event. But this is the beauty of our on-demand feature! You can attend the live event as your schedule allows, and can catch everything else later on-demand. Find what best fits your needs and schedule – whether that's attending the live event, watching on-demand, or a combination of both.
In what time zone are the conference hours and sessions listed?
All listed times are Eastern Standard Time. If you are in a time zone other than EST, use a tool such as timeanddate.com to convert to your own time zone.
Do I have to pre-register for each individual session I want to attend?
No, sessions are first-come, first-served, so there is no pre-registration necessary. Adding a session to your 'My Schedule' feature in the Session Sorter does not reserve or guarantee you a spot in the virtual session but is simply a planning tool to help you decide which sessions to attend.
Are there limits to the number of people who can join a session?
There is a limit for sessions, however we anticipate there being plenty of room in each session. We encourage attendees to join the session a few minutes early, if possible.
Do I have to complete the session evaluation immedlately after I watch the session or can I do it later?
The evaluation does not have to be done immediately; you can complete the evaluation at your leisure. Please be sure to complete your session evaluations by Friday, November 17 in order to secure your live session certificates. On-demand certificates will be available for on-demand sessions. However, not all CEUs are available for on-demand sessions. Check the CEU Details page grid to see which CEUs are available for on-demand. Finally, please note that hours for ASHA on-demand CEUs are different from live CEUs.
If I miss a session or cannot attend a certain portion due to another commitment, will recordings be available on-demand for me to watch later?
Yes, most breakout sessions will be recorded and available following the conference. A precise listing of what session types will and will not be recorded can be found on our on-demand page.
Will there be live networking opportunities?
Think Tank Networking sessions occur during the 4:00-5:00 pm timeslot Tuesday-Thursday. Networking sessions will not be recorded or available on-demand to allow for free, open, and candid exchange. But you can always keep the conversation and connections going on social media!
What if I have technical issues?
We are working closely with our event production company to provide the necessary customer support to attendees. A live technician will be available in each session to assist anyone who may have audio or video trouble. You can also submit a request via our Attendee Help Desk. Your request will be received by our team and routed to the appropriate staff member who will connect with you.
