Session Types

Session TypeDescriptionNumber of Presenters

Demonstration

This show-and-tell style session allows presenters to walk through a website or training, physically hold up objects or manipulatives, and introduce resources while generating engagement through a semi-hands-on session. This interactive opportunity allows attendees to engage in real-time conversation about how to utilize or implement the example, resources, and activities shown.

1-4 presenters

Facilitated Discussion

This dynamic, interactive conversation is designed to engage the audience in sharing their thoughts, ideas, strategies, and perspectives with one another. Presenters act more like facilitators, briefly introducing a topic and then posing questions to draw the audience into a discussion, actively engaging them in a lively and emerging exchange of thoughts, viewpoints, and ideas.

1-4 presenters

Lecture

An individual or small group presents content and applications on key topics and issues. These sessions are designed for presenters to share information on a specific topic as well as cultivate increased understanding and a transfer of knowledge that empowers attendees to apply to their own work through the use of examples, stories, manipulatives, Google Docs, and activities.

1-4 presenters

Panel

A group of individuals share their unique and varied perspectives on a specific topic or theme. Presenters engage in a conversation, offer their own viewpoint/experience, and answer questions from a moderator and/or one another.

4-5 presenters  (includes the facilitator/moderator)

Research Symposium

A visual display of innovative content, data, and/or findings based on research and implementation. This session may be grouped with various researchers or presented by a single group of researchers. Researchers present their information then engage in an interactive dialogue with attendees.

1-4 presenters

All session types for OCALICONLINE 2025 are 60 minutes in length and will be presented live on Zoom November 18-21, 2025.

If your proposal is accepted, the expectation is that you and your co-presenters would be available to present live on Zoom at your scheduled date and time.
