Moments of Impact

Moments of ImpactEverettKatieCharlotteHarshaw Family

Harshaw Family

"[OCALI] is like oxygen. You're not aware of it, but it's there, and it's absolutely necessary," said Gwen Harshaw, mom to Zayne, a young man diagnosed with autism as a child. Doctors told them Zayne would always struggle with motor control. But 20 years later? He's proven everyone wrong. And OCALI – and OCALICON – were there to witness the journey. Zayne has graced the OCALICON main stage on numerous occasions, entertaining audiences with an electric dose of blues, rock, pop, and R&B. And Gwen? She's now on staff with us here at OCALI, helping other parents and families navigate their own journeys.

Watch their story, and discover the power of OCALI and OCALICON's 'common-unity.'
