Dr. Sean Smith
Sean J. Smith, professor of special education at the University of Kansas, has a background in special education and technology. He specializes in the integration of instructional/assistive technology into the lives of individuals with disabilities and their respective educational professionals; e-mentoring to enhance teacher education/induction; online learning; and addressing the needs of individuals with Down syndrome.
Smith is a project director on several U.S. Department of Education program initiatives and has authored and presented several articles and papers on special education technology. He has served as an associate editor for the Journal of Special Education Technology, and currently serves as an associate editor for Teaching Exceptional Children. He is the proud parent of four young children, one having an intellectual disability.
