OCALICON 2014 features keynote addresses on Wednesday, November 19 and Thursday, November 20. Join us both days at the main stage in Hall F from 9:45-11:30 am as these leaders reaffirm our work, challenge our conventions, and inspire us to think differently about what is possible.

Wednesday – Ami Klin, Ph.D.

Chief of Autism and Related Disorders, Marcus Autism Center
Department of Pediatrics, Emory University School of Medicine

Dr. Klin is an internationally recognized psychologist and researcher. His primary research activities focus on the social mind and brain, and aspects of autism from infancy through adulthood. In his most noted work, Klin used eye-tracking technology to visualize and measure social engagement, allowing him to monitor infants who potentially have an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). His research goal is to identify individuals with ASD as early as possible so that potential therapies can have their maximal effect.

Thursday – Dani Bowman

Founder, Powerlight Animation Studio

Dani Bowman is an 18-year-old college student and filmmaker specializing in animation, illustration, and creating fun entertainment for children of all ages. She founded Powerlight Animation Studios at age 11, and has been working professionally since age 14, partnering with Joey Travolta, and teaching animation to others with autism at his annual summer camp program. Bowman aspires to be the Temple Grandin of her generation, working to change the world's perception of autism and demonstrate all of the special abilities of individuals with autism. Her short films have been screened at major film festivals across the nation and include Mr. Raindrop, The Namazu, and Hannah Lost Her Smile.
